Cover and interior design for a book about the relationship between
children's art and modern artists.
About the Book
The Innocent Eye explores the influence of children’s art on modern artists (such as Kandinsky, Miro, and Klee) by comparing their masterpieces and sketches with the children’s art that influenced them. Similar to the arbitrary, staccato style of children's art, modern art demonstrates brokenness of surface, color, composition, perspective and form. The commonalities of spontaneity and disjointedness became the theme for the book, manifest in every design component (including the page numbers, column height, cutlines, color palette and block-quotes).
